VPS Monthly

Available from $14.99 per month

Your Very Own Lightning Fast WordPress Server – Made Simple.

Choose your options to see the price per month.

Clear selection

All our WordPress VPS Servers run on the latest Ubuntu LTS Release (based on GNU/Linux) for speed and security. The webserver is powered by nginx and uses PHP7 (running as PHP-FPM) with MariaDB for lightning fast response times. WordPress is pre-installed and ready for setup – all you need to do is point your DNS records at your VPS.

Each VPS is monitored remotely for issues and can be rebooted on request. Both the GNU/Linux Operating System and WordPress (plus installed plugins) will update to the latest version as soon as they are available for added security.

Note: with this option, your WordPress VPS will automatically renew each MONTH via Paypal. However if you ever cancel your recurring payment (via your Paypal account) without letting us know first (eg. you might be upgrading), be aware your VPS (and all existing backups) will be deleted and all data lost. Please read this paragraph again if necessary and make sure you are very clear on this!

Note: you MUST keep up your payments for the server to stay online. If we see multiple payment failures via PayPal we WILL shutdown your VPS and close your account. There is NO process for reactivation. Therefore, please ensure when you get a new debit/credit card that you update your PayPal account.

Why should I use a VPS for my WordPress site?

A VPS is a virtual, private server that exists on a powerful physical machine similar to on shared hosting plans. But unlike shared hosting, you have a guaranteed allotment of system resources that ONLY you have access to. So, even if there is a much bigger website than yours on another VPS, hosted on the same physical machine, that won’t matter: you’re always guaranteed the system resources that you’re paying for, and your WordPress website will always be online.

What location should I choose for my VPS? Does it really matter?

Not really. Some people host on different continents for legal reasons, or because their target audience is based there. However, the difference in speed is negligible, and with Content Delivery Networks, Proxy Servers and Browser Caching all in play these days, the website resources are usually loaded from a location much closer to the customer than the VPS itself. Still, it’s nice to have the choice, isn’t it?

How long does it take for my VPS to go live?

Usually less than 24 hours, sometimes less. If you don’t hear from us within 48 hours, there may have been a problem with your payment, or mails from us may have gone to your spam folder. Please check both before contacting us.

Once I get an email, how do I configure my VPS?

Pretty simple. You paste the IP Address we send you into a browser window, and WordPress will ask you to provide a language, email address, username and password. Once you enter these, your site is online. It takes less than a minute to complete!

How do I get my domain name to point at my VPS?

This one is a bit trickier, so we wrote a tutorial. Please have a read.

How do I migrate the content from a previous web hosting plan to my VPS?

If your site already exists elsewhere, you will need to employ a WordPress Migration Extension to pull the content to your new VPS. Example include All-in-One WP Migration and Duplicator. There are many others.

How do I upgrade my VPS?

Sometimes you might feel you want your WordPress VPS to have even more resources than it currently has. Because we only allow one VPS per customer, the best thing to do is contact us and we will transfer your IP address and content to a new VPS, then remove the old one. However, you MUST contact is first to make sure this process goes smoothly. More information (and a 10% upgrade discount) here.

Are domain names or email services included with a VPS?

Unfortunately not. You will need to register your domain with a different provider, pointing your A records at the VPS (see above) and your mx records at either your own mail server or your Google Apps Mail account. See this tutorial.

What usage is allowed on VPS? Will it be shut down if I use too many resources?

You can use as much RAM and CPU on your own VPS as you want, and it will be quite hard to full your storage quota anytime soon. Even the minimum 20GB is an awful lot of space! The only quota to worry about is traffic transfer. If your website becomes VERY popular, or you have a lot of file downloads, you could possibly exceed your limit. We don’t mind if this happens infrequently, but if it becomes a common occurrence we will ask you to upgrade to the next plan.

What is an SSD?

There are hard disk drives (HDD) and then there are solid-state drives (SSD). SSD technology is the faster and more efficient alternative to traditional hard disk drives. An SSD does much the same job (saving your data while the system is off, booting your system, etc.) as an HDD, but instead of a magnetic coating on top of platters, the data is stored on interconnected flash memory chips that retain the data even when there’s no power present. The result is much faster performance and much less “wear and tear” as there NO moving parts to the disk.

Should I choose to use backups?

We think you should. Sure it costs more, but for the extra bucks we store 4 complete backups of your VPS, roughly 1 week apart. Should something go horribly wrong, we can roll back to anyone of these backups and regenerate your VPS instance from it. Then you can just update your website content from whatever WordPress backup extension you have been using.

Can I enable backups later on?

No. Once a VPS is paid for and created, backups cannot be enabled. Please choose carefully when purchasing your VPS.

Does my VPS have a swap partition?

Yes, it does! We have added a 2GB swap partition to the VPS. Swap space in Linux is used when the amount of physical memory (RAM) is full. If the system needs more memory resources and the RAM is full, inactive pages in memory are moved to the swap space. This means that even when under pressure, your VPS can still do it’s job.

Can I use caching on my VPS?

In the unlikely event you need to enable caching on your VPS, we have configure nginx as best we can to work with W3 Total Cache. See this tutorial for more information.

I need HTTPS for my site, is that possible?

Yes and no. While we don’t install SSL certs on your VPS, you can still use HTTPS, in a way. Once again, there is a tutorial for that.
